Before I had studied Cat for thirty years, I saw fur as fur, and whiskers as whiskers.

When I arrived at a more intimate knowledge, I came to the point where I saw that fur is not fur, and whiskers are not whiskers. But now that I have got its very substance I am at rest. For it's just that I see fur once again as fur, and whiskers once again as whiskers.
